SCHOOL FEES 2026
The meeting to approve the budget and set the fees for 2026 was held in the school library on
Tuesday 23 September 2025. The decision taken at the budget meeting is binding to all parents.The fees were set as follows:
Gr R R 36 378.00 per annum (R 3637.80 per month over 10 months)
Gr 1 R 36 042.00 per annum (R 3604.20 per month over 10 months)
Gr 2 R 36 042.00 per annum (R3604.20 per month over 10 months)
Gr 3- 7 R 32 331.00 per annum (R3233.10 per month over 10 months)
School fees are payable in advance from January until October 2026.
Incentive for early payers
For 2026, the early settlement discounts will be as follows; 3.5% for all Grades if fees are settled before the end
of December 2025 and a 2% discount will apply for payments made in full before January 2026.

In terms of legislation and resolution 2 passed at the budget meeting held, Groote Schuur Primary School is a fee paying school. As parents, you have taken a conscious decision to enrol your child/ren at a fee paying school, rather than opt for a non-fee paying school. Having chosen a fee paying school places an obligation on you to pay your fees. Families who are unable to afford the school fees are entitled to apply for a fee rebate, dependent on their financial standing. Please note that the gross income of both parents added together, is considered in judging your financial standing. Please note further that this combining of family income occurs, irrespective of marital status or divorce agreements. The paying parents of the school subsidize the non-paying parents, not the state.
Even if you received a rebate in 2025, the law requires that you apply again for 2026. The application forms for rebates will be available from the financial administrator’s office when school opens in 2026 and are due back by 20 February 2026.
AFTERCARE FEES 2026
Full day Gr R-7 – 5 full days a week 13:00pm – 17:30pm
R 11,090.00 per annum (R1109.00 per month over 10 months payable in advance from January to October 2026).1
Half day Gr R-3 -5 half days a week – 13:00pm – 15.30pm
R 7870.00 per annum (R787.00 per month over 10 months payable in advance from January to October 2026).
The early settlement discount applies the same at 3.5% for full day only if paid before December 2025 or 2% for full day if paid before January 2026.
As this is a service which the school is rendering to our parents, should you fall behind with your aftercare fees we will have no alternative, but to ask you to remove your child from aftercare.
